Mechanical Design Engineering

I have always enjoyed designing mechanical things ranging from interesting geometries to functional mechanisms.

Just as the function of a mechanism determines the logic of the interrelationships of its parts, the detailed form of an individual part is determined by its material and method of manufacture.  We have amazing computer aided design tools and access to new materials and manufacturing methods but the fundamentals of machine design are largely unchanged such that respect for how loads express through a structure, material properties, and the logic behind the function of mechanisms remain as important as ever.

I have more than 15 years of continuous part time experience as a user of SolidWorks and maintain a current license including simulation on a competent workstation. The examples here are selected to represent a range of solutions covering part, assembly and mechanism designs across a range of materials and fabrication methods.
